Trigger Finger Splints

Trigger finger, also known as stenosing tenosynovitis, is a condition that causes difficulty when bending or flexing and straightening the finger. Trigger finger occurs when the tendon that helps the finger flex becomes inflamed, causing it to catch or lock in place when moving. Symptoms include a clicking or snapping sensation when moving the affected finger, pain or tenderness when moving the finger, a tender lump at the base of the finger, and stiffness and locking after periods of inactivity. Causes of trigger finger can include diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and forceful hand grasping or pinching activities.
